Excuses, Excuses

Gosh, where have I *been* for the last 2 months?!  Work busy, which has gotten increasingly hectic in the last few months.  I spent a week in Asia teaching night shift, and then came home to catch my breath briefly before our annual company user conference, plus launch a major new program.   Add in one child breaking his ankle at the start of spring break, and the other child needing serious "consequence" talks about grades, and well, really, just life at its typical fast pace.

I've had lots of ideas for blog posts, and I will try to get to them soon, but tonight is about commitment to getting back on a regular writing (and reading!) schedule.  I haven't even been reading and commenting blogs much, life has been so crazy.  Now that summer schedule is in session, I am hoping around all the mini-vacation and summer camp changes to routine, I'll do a better job of committing *something* to this blog.

In the meantime, I'll just share this lovely picture of DH's Father's Day gift.  We've had a Tolkien calendar hanging around for years, slightly water-stained in one corner, with the intention of framing the reprints of the artwork JRR did for his books.  This one is our favorite, and now looks totally awesome hanging in our dining room.  I haven't had anything custom framed in a long time, so I was a bit sticker-shocked when I got the quote, but we will love this forever.
